I was lucky enough to have gotten lost for the past fortnight with my beau on the lush island of Upolu in Samoa. It’s a place that possesses an almost prehistoric mystique via misty mountain canopies, a wealth of just-right sunshine which my new freckles can attest to, and more sapphire seas than you can poke a coconut at (also; So. Many. Coconuts.) Now I’m more obsessed with palm tree prints than ever.
First light – the view from a private breakfast on the jetty to start the vacation off in the proper manner.
A super moon plays peek-a-boo behind the palm trees
An unnecessary timepiece. It’s always “island time” here.
The capital across Apia Bay.
Papapapaitai Waterfall.
The coast at Togitogiga National Park.
Rainbow over ancient lava.
The Coconut Mojito by Sinalei may be the best cocktail in Samoa.
One last dip in the pool at Saletoga Sands in my new Triangl bikini.
Where are you hoping to escape to soon; I love to hear of your impending/realm-of-daydreams-only journeys in the comments below?
Those photos make me long to be back in Samoa (I went to Savai’i). Love the shots of the starry skies!
It’s certainly a place to forget yourself underneath the stars Theresa! I didn’t make it to Savai-i this time. Island inertia only took me as far as the pool bar really.
