L’Oreal Paris Runway 3 at LMFF 2013

In her own words Yeojin Bae’s latest offerings for her label YB J’Aime is “chic, Parisian, tailored and seductive”. In this regard, the ‘Gypset’ collection continues Yeojin’s design legacy, only this time with a nod to a very refined version of the 70’s. No zany platforms here. It’s all drawstrings, delicate folksy prints and just a hint of a flare.

Last time I chatted with Yeojin (at Melbourne Spring Fashion week last year) the new line had just taken off while her eponymous label was on hold to be developed into a higher-end prospect. She promises the Yeojin Bae label “is in the works and (she) can’t wait to release the next collection”. Meanwhile her new baby YB J’Aime is continuing to expand; “we recently showed in my birth country in Seoul.”

Yeojin’s personal outlook for dressing for the Autumn Winter season is as effortless as her design seem; “I am already living in my white tuxedo – as a suit but love wearing as separates too”. Next up? “I’m hoping to join my husband in Paris for a quick trip next month – no dates locked in, it will be a real spur of the moment, get on the plane”. Joli!
