Pretty In Pastels

Even since Louis Vuitton and Chanel’s frosted collections stepped respectively off the carousel and out of a garden in Versailles, signs have been glaringly obviously that the pastel trend is set to replace bright colour blocking as the summer look du jour. Fairy floss pink, mint green, cornflower blue, lilac, peach and lemon yellow aren’t for everyone; but I’m quite looking forward to adding a dash of whimsy to my seasonal wardrobe. Wear the pastel trend with white, grey marle and metallics to avoid looking like a cupcake from head to toe. Block black can look quite harsh against such soft tones, but carefully considered black piping or accents can rein in the overwhelming girlishness of this look. Suddenly I feel like a big scoop of sorbet for dessert…

  1. Think the combination of pastel colour and bright colour would another way to go for our Aussie summer too!
