Violet & I Spring launch

On Tuesday evening the creative space of the MARS Gallery transformed for a stylish soiree in celebration of a new partnership between fashion label Violet and I and charity The Butterfly Foundation. Designer Anna Linklater formed the relationship with the foundation in response being in the fashion industry and therefore feeling the need to contribute to the fight against body image issues.

Anna has designed the lovely ‘Panacheya Camisole’ of which 20% of sales will be donated to the charity. Launching the Body of Art exhibition along with the camisole initiative during Body Image and Eating Disorders Awareness Week, guests were invited to leave any diet inhibitions at home as we happily indulged in cocktails, lollies and ice cream. The space was decorated with art works that celebrate positive body image as created by young women.

The evening also included a sneak preview of Violet and I’s Spring Collection. “Rose of the Taj” is the story of an English girl whisked away to India. The collection features dancing skirts, pastels and “Bollywood inspired pieces,” explains Anna. The Panacheya Camisole, the starring item comes in a range of soft spring colours, featured luxurious double layered chiffon and is decorated with a weighty row of sequins along the hem.

The collection features classic designs including a cropped leather jacket, maxi and shift dress and delicate camisoles in shades of mint, lilac and nude. Each is decorated with a subtle embellishment from soft ruffles to shimmering sequins. Violet and I’s romantic Spring collection is filled with enchanting pieces designed specifically “for friends, not models”.
