House of Snowball

The House of Snowball has launched their new South Melbourne boutique.

Designers Louise Coakley (formerly ‘Louise Snowball’) and her daughter Kristie Coakley are the faces behind the label. They create often whimsical, slightly offbeat designs with soul. The type of dresses that make you wonder at the story behind them or desire to create new memories in.¬†Snowball Maison de Couture is how they have dubbed their couture pieces while the House of Snowball line maintains rarefied air by being ¬†limited edition.

They pair vintage and antique fabric with modern silk and cottons to create headpieces, cocktail, evening and bridal frocks, blouses and capelets. The label recently dressed Most Outstanding Actress nominee Justine Clarke (Tangle) for the Logies red carpet in their flattering ‘Bibi’ dress. My favourite pieces include the darkly floral and frilled ‘Jacquetta’ frock which was born to be sported at the Spring races and the subtly chic, vintage influenced ‘Grace’ dress. Watch the videos below to see how these lovlies move and also to see some acrobatics from Henna and a surprise “pop-up” musical number…

Discover House of Snowball at 277 Coventry Street, South Melbourne.
