Round She Goes Pre-Loved Fashion Market

The highly anticipated Round She Goes Pre-Loved and Vintage Fashion Market was held at the Tivoli in Prahran on Sunday, the 19th of October.  Several hundred treasure hunters filed through the doors hoping to snap up a fabulous vintage bargain, or perhaps to find that something extra to complete their Spring Carnival outfit.

It was rather overwhelming at first, the upstairs area of the Tivoli was absolutely packed with ladies (and a few gentlemen), it was nearly impossible to decide whether to navigate left or right through the racks and tables of clothing, shoes, jewellery and accessories.

Round She Goes was not your average pre-loved clothing fair, almost everything looked as though it had been hand picked to reflect the lastest trends.  From flirty floral dresses in vintage silks and cottons, to sweet low-wedge sandals in butter soft vintage leather, true vintage bargains were ready and waiting to be snapped up at each and every stall.

Some ladies came away with those ‘urban myth’ type vintage finds – Marni frocks from the 1970’s, I even spotted a couple of bloodthirsty bargain hunters haggling over a vintage Chanel purse (seeings as you can score a fake pretty much anywhere, I’m almost positive that it was the real deal)!

Vintage wares were not the only specialties upon offer at Round She Goes, several sellers had set up stalls showcasing their own creations.  One particular standout was Hunnah Lea designs.  The budding Melbourne designer displayed vintage inspired delights in the form of skirts with button and lace details, and a fantastic Spring Racing frock with the biggest most fabulous Rosette detail on the front.  Hunnah Lea Designs also had on offer the sweetest little lipgloss pots, each decorated with cute printed fabrics and vintage buttons and other adorable trinkets.

My shopping companions came away with a lovely pair of white leather wedge sandals, a vintage leather belt complete with statement belt buckle, a couple of cute purses and plenty of beaded jewellery.

Round She Goes is set to be back early next year (March 22) so be sure to keep a look out at their website – and of course here, at Style Melbourne.
