The Eternal Headonist | Now Open

“Hats will change the way you think about yourself, they will change the way other people see you. You need courage to wear a hat nowadays because hats are a commitment. People will look at you – they’ve got eyes – and when they look at you with a hat on they’ll think “how fabulous!”‘ – Richard Nylon, Melbourne milliner.

What surely must be the premier mecca for purchasing spring racing hats online in Australia has opened. As well as modern headwear to fit any (at least marginally fancy) occasion this new web – and sometimes fleeting real life – shop possesses a perfectly witty name: The Eternal Headonist. Annabel Allen founded the collective millinery project bringing together a gaggle of my favourite local milliners (Lisa Tan, Reny Kestel, too many to mention…), brilliant talents still feeling fresh to me (Kim Wiebenga, Love Lotus) with critically acclaimed Australian hatters.

As well as contemporary new designs The Eternal Headonist also offers a small collection of vintage hats, all just in time for the 2014 Spring Racing Carnival. If you are still unsure about whether to add a cherry on top of your race-day or any-day look Richard may convince you;

“I can tell you that a man in a hat is a woman magnet. They are wonderful things that attract attention from the ladies. And if you don’t want attention from the ladies: you can sell hats to the ladies!
