Yellowglen Marquee: Turnbull Stakes Day racewear at Flemington racecourse

Caulfield racecourse has already shown us a glimpse of their upcoming Spring Racing Carnival on Underwood Stakes Day. Now it’s Flemington‘s turn with a preview at the Turnbull Stakes this past weekend. An array of colour, statement jewels, diy and veiled headpieces seem to be the trends du jour for this racing season. I went street style – or rather track style – spotting the best dressed racegoers within the Yellowglen House marquee, the lawns and during a quick pitstop at the Flemington Fling bar. This carnival Yellowglen House is dedicated to the winemaker’s new Peacock Lane sparkling created in collaboration with Australian jewellery designer Samantha Wills. And it’s the only marquee open to the public…if you’re lucky enough to be handed a rare golden key.

I think ‘Happy Trails’ – the name of the feature race winner on the day –  is a good omen for Flemington’s 2013 Spring Racing Carnival come November. I’d love to hear which days are you are attending (and more importantly what are you planning on wearing)?
