Style Melbourne

Isola Summer 2012

Being a legitimate supermodel means Megan Gale probably doesn’t have to worry too much about how she looks in her seasonal bathers. But happily, that hasn’t stopped her from considering we mere mortals who may need a little more coverage, flattery and, ahem, support when it comes to developing her Isola Summer 2012 designs. Ms. Gale was apparently inspired by Mexican culture during the creation of this collection. Personally, I also see a little Italianate style (by way of Versace/Cavalli) in that black, gold and floral number. I’m may be little too wallflower-esque for Isola’s lush tropical paradise prints and Mexcali rose kaftans when it comes to swimwear. Instead, the black one piece with the frilled bust-line might be just the thing. Braving the not-so-summery weather, Isola models turned David Jones’ Bourke Street Mall façade into seaside promenade earlier this week; spy any cossies you’d like to slip into these holidays?
