Doesn’t Yellowglen House sound like a stately manor? Like something fit for an appearance on Downton Abbey? In fact it’s a golden-gated, three-storey marquee at Flemington reserved for those lucky few racegoers who receive a gilded key from Yellowglen’s trackside scouts. It officially launched this past weekend as inclement weather determined practical trench coats were the stylistic choice of the day. Amid glossy black and gold surrounds – and a few warming flutes of Bella Vintage – I took to spying on the style of my fellow punters during the marquee-warming.
