There’s a silly superstition that wearing green is bad luck; something you certainly don’t want looming when it comes time for a flutter. Happily I was able to balance out this apparent bad juju by wearing a lucky symbol – an origami crane (made from real paper) by milliner Kerrie Stanley. Want one? She can fashion you one in any colour your heart desires. We decided to rest the bird on a Marie-Antoinette-at-the-fall-of-Versailles “birdsnest”. If you can’t be a bit flamboyant at the Spring Racing Carnival when can you?! And if you were wondering, I walked away from Caulfield Cup day with a winning tip on the big race.
What do you think we should we name my new un-feathered friend/lucky charm?

I love your look Sarah – there is nothing cooler than a touch of ‘comical’ and ‘unusual’ in an outfit.
