A tropical Spring Summer for Spencerlacy

Against a backdrop of island beats with a glass of fruity rum punch (by Chin Chin’s James Duffield) in hand, Spencerlacy celebrated the arrival of their ‘Calypso’ collection for Spring Summer. While the official inspiration for the collection speaks to a colonial-era Caribbean, designer Belinda Abbott admits she was dreaming of a not-yet-realised trip to Zanzibar when creating the range. I’m a fan of the tropical trend at the moment and Spencerlacy’s version is filled with hammock-style woven knits, laser cut-outs that mimic sea urchins, aqua and dip-dyed neons. I’ve selected my five favourite pieces below along with a little sneak peek of Spencerlacy’s upcoming Autumn Winter 2013 “woodlands” derived collection.
