Tettmann.Doust ‘Corpus Ephemera’ Spring/Summer 2013

It’s refreshing to stumble across another fashion label that doesn’t adhere to trends but rather cuts its own path. Tettmann.Doust, by designers Naomi Tettmann and Elke Doust, are one such label. They are attempting to blur the typical seasonal cycle of fashion by producing biannual collections which share an overarching theme. Happily, their designs look drop dead gorgeous and somehow still perfectly suited to the new season too.

Tettmann.Doust’s first ever Spring Summer collection is titled ‘Corpus Ephemera’ like their debut Winter range is an ode to the anatomy of the birds and the bees. The imposing title translates roughly to things of the body which are only used temporarily (thankyou Google!) This time around they are aiming for softness and fragility inspired by cocoons and the shed exoskeletons of cicadas. If you pay attention sheer, floaty silks are printed with diagrams that mimic those in biology books (I keep trying to tell people science is sexy, this collection just re-enforces that)…
