While it may not have been a big move (just down the the street) the opening of Mathieu Salem‘s latest studio boutique certainly heralded a shift in consciousness for the couture label. Not only was it the designer’s birthday but – as he ceremoniously cut the ribbon on the new space – Mathiew revealed that a ready to wear line and accessories were to come in 2013. However for the present, the studio is an airy, chandelier-adorned and downright glamorous space in which to be styled for weddings, premieres and red-carpet events (because we all have countless of those glittering occasions marked in our diaries, obviously). Mathieu’s own gowns are complemented by headpieces from studio-mate Kerrie Stanley and Neil Balthasar’s jewels.
