LMFF: Ex[ie]perimental Collective

Away from the spectacle of catwalks, my favourite thing about any fashion week including the L’Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival is the possibility of unearthing new talent. In that spirit, here’s an easy introduction to five budding Melbourne designers.

As part of LMFF’s cultural program, young designer Christina Exie is curating a fashion exhibition with fellow RMIT alumni Emma Boseley, Katia Di Crescenzo, Kara Liu and Helen Pappas. Titled ‘Ex[ie]perimental Collective‘ the exhibit will look at each individual’s design process, from initial concept through to final pieces. The show aims to showcase a range of techniques and methods of construction and to celebrate innovation in fashion design, tailoring, jewellery, even collage. Huzzah!

The launch party is on next Thursday March 22nd from 6pm-9pm at Level 1, Von Haus building, 1a Crossley Street, Melbourne. The free public exhibition then runs until March 28th.

Ex[ie]perimental Collective is proudly supported by StyleMelbourne.
