Simultaneous lunches – with fashion design firmly on the menu – happened this week. As I happily dined riverside at L’Oreal‘s mid-day soiree, the trackside ‘Beautiful Girls’ fashion luncheon was in full swing at Flemington. A reminder that racewear is not only relevant for Spring; a Myer-led runway parade style by Romy Frydman showcased a handful of international labels and a whole lot of locals including Aurelio Costarella, Kate Sylvester (I like her dresses so much I’m claiming her as a local of ours from across the Tasman), T.L. Wood, Arthur Galan AG, Yeojin Bae and Nicola Finetti. I’m really enjoying Cue’s surprisingly directional designs this season and Ellery’s particular shade of sky blue.
