Mid-Summer: 5 of the Best Swimsuits

Damned if I’m giving up on summer already.
Cloudy skies still have weeks left to give way to streaming sunshine and beach-worthy heat.
So – in an ode to mid-summer – here are my top five choices of swimsuits that will have you feeling like vintage-era MGM water darling Esther Williams in no time!

1. Amitiwi has produced this new take on the “itsy bitsy, teeny weeny, yellow polka dot bikini”. – ‘Sun Orchid’ bikini, $198.

2. An abstract beauty by Gorman inspired by scary (but I think they must be scarily beautiful) creatures of the deep. ‘Monster’ one-piece, $132 (on sale).

3. A little intimates project from Limedrop called Elle De. The striking Australiana print reminds me of reading May Gibbs’ Snugglepot and Cuddlepie stories as a child. – ‘Gum Leaves Printed’ bikini, $169.

4. Kachel‘s feminine take on the ever-present nautical/resort look. – ‘Aruba’ strapless one-piece, $149.

5. This bikini by in seafoam green Billy & Lola will surely transform the wearer into a modern-day mermaid. Ariel ain’t got nothin’ on you. – ‘Tie top with Shirred brief’ bikini, $170.

If these don’t satiate your swimwear lust it’s also worth trying Obus, Leopold and Franks (the latter if you’re the kind to steal your boyfriend’s swimshorts).

So, does anyone still have any thrilling plans for the rest of summer? Beachside jaunts? Epic road trips? Let me know in the comments below so I can live vicariously through thee…
