Caulfield Cup Carnival 2011 Launch

Melbourne Racing Club launched their Spring racing carnival campaign for 2011 a little while ago but I got so wrapped up with fashion week and a few special projects that it’s taken me a little while to share this with you. I’ll be heading to Guineas Day this Saturday to judge the Fashion Stakes (as they’ve kindly invited me to be one of their VIP bloggers this year) so figured now is a nice time for a little Caulfield refresher! I would love to see some StyleMelbourne readers take to the competitive stage; don’t forget to give me a wave!

The very sweet Bree Laughlin is this season’s Face of Caulfield (here with fellow entrants Katie Murphy, right, and Maggie Whish, left.)

The Caulfield Classic Style Award is like the designer-only version of fashions on the field. I’m very excited and a little nervous to help judge this one. Would love to hear your thoughts on who you would pick and why in the comments below. This year’s entrants include labels like Nevenka, Nicholas by Green with Envy, Reverie and State of Georgia, You can also help choose the People’s Choice winner by voting here.

The print on this Kate Sylvester dress puts me in a springtime frame of mind. Now to raid my sister’s hat collection for something I can cap it off with at the actual track.

A model sports Black Caviar-style silks.

With only three days to go until Guineas, you’ll have to excuse me as I’m off to think up a suitable outfit.
