Roll Up, roll up… to Catwalk Circus!

When it rolled into town earlier this week – rather than a big top – Catwalk Circus was housed under the ornate ceiling of the Melbourne Town Hall. And rather than golden-maned lions being tamed there was fierce fashion on show. Instead of caramel corn there were cocktails, instead of ‘admit one’ tickets there were VIP passes. Instead of three rings, we have a runway. But there were still plenty of acrobatic circus acts (courtesy NICA) flying “through the air with the greatest of ease”.

Milliner Alexandra Harper sent models down the runway with what could have been exotically-coloured, carnival-esque birds perched on their crowns.

I’ve wanted something in this gleaming black fabric forever; great to see Anthony Capon putting it to great use for his a.concept label.
