Forever New continues their peaches and cream, butter-wouldn’t-melt-in-her-mouth aesthetic for Autumn Winter 2011. Unashamedly feminine; it’s nice to see a high street label that consistently allows young ladies to look like just that. After we followed their casting for dancers at the Australian Conservatoire of Ballet a couple of weeks ago we knew the label would be delivering pieces inspired by the Oscar-winning film ‘Black Swan’ in an ode to the classic ‘Swan Lake’.
A few highlights (apart from the stunning dancers) from the ‘Enchanted Princess’ collection were stockings with ballerina-style ribbon decals, LOTS of lace and scalloped hemlines. Yet I personally felt Forever New struck gold when they moved towards their more sophisticated, heavier winter pieces. Cosy looking seasonal coats and chunky knits were more suited for a gallop around the English countryside than dancing up a storm on stage; a grown up yet not staid style which suits me just fine.

I have a sweet tooth for Forever New, and I really like the fur gilets and more adult 70′s winter look they’ve got on the cards. Black Swan, eh?
