Transformed into a raw runway, Prahran Town Hall played host to Jack London’s LMFF Trunk Show featuring the men’s Winter 2011 collection entitled “Urban Warriors and Dandy Lions.” Inspired by the rock and roll of the 60’s and early punk, the collection featured an array of denim, lumberjack-ets, blazers, plaid shirts and combat style accessories.
Impeccably groomed models, (the perfectly chiselled type we like) took to the runway opening with both distressed and neat denim. Key pieces featured the Union Jack and Southern Cross constellation; a celebration of Jack London’s designer, Karl Bartl’s Australian success. Men can expect skinny straight legs this season with all denim, tailored cargos, leather and suit pants cuffed or finishing at the ankle to expose leather shoes and neutral coloured loafers. For the boys into military style, camouflage and khaki pants teamed with heavy woollen blazers and vests were tucked into combat boots.
Trench coats, vests, classic knits and blazers will keep the guys warm this Winter. Leather jackets – heavily favoured this season – featured in trench, short and bomber styles and we teamed with teamed with denim, cargos and tailored pants. Jack London knows suiting and with sharp tailoring, braces, skinny ties and crisp fitted shirts, his polished suits took to the runway. Accessories were key to the collection with brimmed hats and braces complementing the looks. Yet, the most applauded accessory on the runway was a British Bulldog accompanying a few of the models as they debuted the collection.
From gentlemanly to street style – Jack nails it.
