Tea at the (Megan) Park

It may have been an invitation to morning tea at Megan Park‘s Armadale flagship boutique, however upon spying the designer’s new Winter 10/11 range I was transported instantly to Marrakech at night. Inky blue-black wools and crepes are embedded with a sprinkling of gold. Hand-made embroidery studded with precious fragments is again one of Park’s signatures; this season to best effect as an accent on pockets, shoulders and sleeves or as the star on vests and one stellar bustier. A smattering of darkly mottled floral prints and plummy red wine hues complete a collection that befits an artful hand at layering.

Catching my eye, Miquella jewellery makes a lovely accompaniment to the apparel with its navy leather interlaced among gold chains and gems. Megan Park is the exclusive Australian stockist of the London label this season. Park’s own accesories also make a versatile impact; with gold and natural leather wrap belts, heavily jewelled neckpieces featuring jet black and multi-coloured tribal stones and metallic-threaded scarves.

I managed to capture a few of my personal favourite key pieces for the season for your perusal…

Love the sweet knits coming in for Winter. I’m a sucker for sequins.

The gold brocade skirt was one of my favourite pieces. I’d dress it down for everyday wear.

Very cool Miquella jewels – remind me a little of Owl of Eden which I adore – thanks to Alyx Gorman for taking the cocktail ring shot.

Drapey loveliness – there’s a gold embellished version which is even more glam.

Some of Megan’s piece are like wearing a treasure trove

Actually strapless, this bustier is my pick of the bunch. I’d layer it over a white tee though as I’m not so brave to bare that much skin.
