The Paspaley Polo in the City will be held this Saturday the 4th December at Albert Park from 11am to 5.30pm. The face of Ralph Lauren, international polo player Ignacio ‘Nacho’ Figueras, will be on the field and the Sony Foundation (who raise funds for youth battling cancer) is an official partner of Polo in the City and will be hosting their own exclusive marquee.
The Sony Foundation is requesting that all polo guests bring their old mobile phones to recycle and raise funds for building of youth cancer wards across Australia. Special bins will be scattered around the polo grounds. Plus proceeds made from ticket sales to take in the polo from the Sony Foundation marquee with go to ‘You Can‘, an initiative in league with CanTeen.
They are also hosting a ‘Fashion 4 Ward’ competition, the marquee’s version of Fashions on the Field. Expert judges including Melbourne Weekly fashion commentator Rick Molinsky will be judging the best dressed lady and gent. Prizes include goodies from Susan Holmwood, Flint, Brooksfield and ACP magazine subscriptions. At the polo last weekend, Molinsky told me he will be on the lookout for the style of “someone who truly gets what the polo is”. Time to do some research polo-goers! The Sony Marquee will also be holding a raffle and auction for the cause in which all guests at the polo can participate.
Tickets to enjoy the splendid surrounds of the Sony Foundation marquee are $300 and include full catering and beverages. To book call Olivia Morgan on (02) 9383 6231 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.

*Update: The official after party will be held at Hotel Nest. They will be providing complimentary transport from the polo back to the bar where polo-goers can mingle with players and Melbourne personalities alike.
