Fashion Stakes heats at Underwood Stakes Day

The first two Chadstone Fashion Stakes heats for the “Youthful Fashionista” category played out this past weekend. Brave hopefuls were judged by an extensive panel including this year’s Face of Caulfield Helen Coghill, Rokk Ebony hair stylists Linda Vergura and Antony David and Chadstone and Channel Nine stylist Cheryl Weir.

Black and white ensembles were popular, lady-like styles a la Alannah Hill as were a host of patterns, ruffles and pastels. Gone are cardigans and trenches as tailored blazers compliment crisp raceday mornings. First to go through was Eugenia Koulaeva, suited up in a cream mini dress, with a simple ruffle around the waist and wearing a beautiful tailored black blazer.

With a similar vision, heat two survivor Elis Crewes wore a classic strapless frock in a bone colour with a cropped blazer, black gloves and a stunning hat flourishing with black lace and cream flowers. Her enviable Chanel clutch was the final touch.
