Diamondiferous Alexi Freeman Spring Summer 2010/11

We featured select pieces in a recent fashion shoot but here is Alexi Freeman‘s latest collection in its unadulterated glory. The collection celebrates all of the shiny rocks that designers (ie. Owl of Eden, Dion Lee, even Romance was Born is a tad ‘Dark Crystal’ at the moment) seem to be going a bit mad for this summer.

When it comes to Freeman’s “Diamondiferous” Spring Summer 2010/11 the prints are the stars. There is a fractal, geometric print in shades of grey that is balanced by its good twin; a pastel, pearlescent fabric that reminds me of looking through the refracting rainbow of a Swarovski sparkler. The mesh from previous collections reappears, making its translucent mark in two gorgeous cocktail dress designs with built in capes(!) forming a refreshing silhouette.

Details include a touch of tough silver in press studs and some striking fringed accessories (snare thee a ‘Diamond Tassel Bracelet’ this instant). Also on the accessories front is a line of complementary jewellery that Freeman has collaborated on with Tessa Blazey. All your high school trigonometry nightmares should melt away upon spying these minimal pieces.

PS You have a very limited time left to order some of the printed pieces as they are time consuming to produce so get in touch with the designer quick-smart to arrange a private viewing of the collection at alexi@alexifreeman.com.
