Felix & Mabel Debut

Introducing

Felix & Mabel and designer Kim Spirdonoff. There’s lots to love about this new label; it is designed, printed AND made in Melbourne and fashioned from sustainable, biodegradable or organic silks, bamboo, hemp, cotton and Tencel. Even the finishing touches are carefully considered with locally printed, recycled paper swing tags utilising low impact inks and even the Felix & Mabel labels inside the garments are made from organic cotton.

Spring Summer 2010/11 at Felix & Mabel is casually elegant. Entitled “The Paris End of Collins Street” Spirdonoff describes her inspiration as “beautiful architecture, a bustling mix of corporate offices, cafes, roof-top bars and elegant theatres”. *Sigh* I could so sip a mocha latte at Koko Black on Collins right now. A selection of my favourite pieces are below including subtle gathers, a new staple, flutter-sleeve white tee and a beautiful lotus flower print in unexpected places.

Felix & Mabel will have a showcase of their Winter 2011 collection at Debut along with 11 other Australian labels at Fashion Exposed this August 2010. You can register to visit for free here.
