búl Flagship Boutique launch

Climbing the dark vintage stairs of Curtin House, I reached a haven of light; búl‘s flagship store has opened in the heart of Melbourne’s CBD.

A collection of beautifully understated clothes are comfortable in their beach themed surroundings. The store looks like a cosy seaside retreat featuring wooden walls and deck chairs which ensure you feel like you are relaxing by the sea.

Designer Virginia Martin developed the idea from her time in California, combining her beach lifestyle and travel experiences into her designs. On the morning of the launch, she drove down to Torquay to surf and to perhaps gain inspiration for the next búl collection. Virginia wore her favourite piece in the collection, the divine ‘Grey Deauville Suede Fringed Dress’.

búl showcased an extensive collection of softly tailored pieces capturing the calm of a bleached seaside landscape in neutral colours like mochas, cream and camel. Knits in soft grey hues and white tees play luxurious basics to team with highlight pieces like the ‘Cream Moliets Blazer’.

Autumn Winter trends featured included soft layering, hooded knits and a relaxed silhouette. búl works with the finest cotton, sleek silk and supple leather and suede. Also available are a range of classic accessories; winter boots, camel sling bags and light print scarves – no embellishment required as the fabric and cut speak for themselves.

búl’s collection accurately represented seaside glamour, proving board shorts and thongs have no place in sophisticated beach side attire.

Find búl at Level 3 of Curtin House, 252 Swanston Street, Melbourne.

  1. LOVE the merchandising! Anyone know if those racks are custom made?

  2. I would imagine so but they don’t look too hard to take inspiration from actually…
