The delightful Angie Réhe is hosting a series of evening fashion illustration classes entitled ‘The Patsyfox Drawing Salon‘. First launching during the Melbourne Fashion Festival, the course offers tips, shortcuts and techniques for beginners to the more advanced student. Groups are kept intimate so Angie can provide personalised tuition (private lessons can also be arranged on request). Draw upon Angie’s 20 years in the fashion industry to hone your own skills whether you simply want to draw or aim towards designing fashion. She was a fashion designer (including for Gripp and Gorman) for over a 13 years and now lectures, is a correspondent for WGSN (our first meeting was when she wanted to take my picture for the global trend site) and also runs the popular illustrated blog of her alter-ego Patsyfox.
Classes run over 8 weeks. For beginners ‘Introduction to Fashion Illustration’ runs on Tuesdays 6.30pm to 9.30pm from now the 20th April until June 2010. Course costs $456. For the more advanced ‘Creative Fashion Illustration’ classes also run which have special tasks like a burlesque dancer as muse or a mixed media editorial challenge. Classes are held at local fashion designer Nevada Duffy’s studio at 165 Gore Street in Fitzroy.
