Satu Autumn Winter 2010

With

a label name that roughly translates to mean ‘fable’ or the ‘act of telling a story’, the expectation to deliver designs that inspire and spark the imagination is high. Designer Chole Kerr has gone above and beyond to ensure her newest collection lives up to the label’s name. The winter collection was inspired by the king of old school country, Johnny Cash, and reflects his edgy attitude and popular culture at the height of his career. The line features cute themed designs like the “I got stripes” tee, “run away” dress, and the “fallen” tunic. Three essentially black garments with black and white stripe detail, reminiscent of prison wear but with an air of feminine softness. This is complemented with a heavy blue denim dress, a wardrobe must for any felon doing a stretch in the big house.

For more casual occasions in a rockers life, there is the aptly named “gambler” black bodysuit and the grey and black ocelot print tee. The collection also features amazing items such as the absolutely show stopping “drifter” shirt and mix and matchable “love to rose” and “memories are made” blouse and skirt. These black and white blurred-print articles are accessory friendly and would be more than happy to add edge to any Friday night outfit. The collection is not only beautiful but features the unique ability to be versatile enough to be stand alone, or to quietly complement and complete an outfit. However, no line would complete without its take on the little black dress, and Satu delivers with its “last round” not-so-little black dress with jacquard detailing that is simple, fun and edgy.
