Mouse in the (Pent)house

  knew a mouse could be such a transformative little creature? Many of you may know Penthouse Mouse as the multitude of events housed in a random warehouse space during LMFF. This year PHM moves into more refined digs, setting up home-base in the old Naval and Military Club Building (27 Little Collins street, enter via Coates lane). PHM will be opening with a party this Friday evening and will then keep dishing out their stylish goods from 11am to 9pm daily until the 19th March. It is essentially a shop and exhibition space but a (usually free) visit is so intriguing as they also host live events, runways, talks and photo-shoots throughout their fleeting stay. There are 18 artists involved (including Alexi Freeman’s AFAR) this year along with 20 designer fashion and accessories labels; From Britten, Jo Baker, OK OK, Subfusco, Vangaurd, Autonomy, Leonard Street, Limedrop, Thom Finch, Satu, Trimapee, Kyoko, Anna Mason, Mercurialist, Gail Sorronda, Estelle Deve, O.T.T BY LIA.T, Natalia Milosz-Piekarska, Karla Way and Does Not Equal. Independent fashion overload.

A few of the highlights of PHM 2010 will be;

Fashion Racquet – On Wednesday March 10th from 6pm, the team at Comeback Kid promise an evening filled with laughter and music combining fashion and sport.  Quote “Short white short shorts may not be out of place”.

Live Photo-shoot – Spook Mag and Look productions let you in our their latest photo-shoot. It all happens on Wednesday March 17th from 6pm. Lights, camera, action.

Refinery 29 comes to Melbourne – The creators of Refinery 29 a revered online fashion publication will make a PHM appearance.  Piera Gelardi and Philippe von Borries chat about fashionable social media, online retail and the future of fashion online.
