Acne Studios opened their first flagship boutique in Melbourne recently. The retail space, a contrast between clean Scandinavian minimalism and earthy woods, was designed by Acne‘s own architect Andreas Fornell. The guest of honour, Australian designer Michelle Jank, sported the Generic Girl Splash jeans (that I covet so) and one of her own trademark hefty, bejewelled neck-pieces. Jank created a short film (below) to showcase Acne’s Summer 2010 collection that was shown on a loop at the launch. Acne, most well known for their cult Swedish denim and jeans, are also creative entrepreneurs dabbling in film, advertising, magazine publishing as well as their own fashion line.
