Hello
fellow Gen Y ladies and gents. This one is for you. X and Y magazine launched online only yesterday after months of planning and features musings about your/our lifestyle. Headed by editors Valeria Gosse (Poster magazine and formerly Brisbane News) and the musically inclined Adam Baidawi, the team includes designer Amber Renae as fashion editor and entertainment editor Georgia King (may I say StyleMelbourne’s very own).
My favourite part of the first issue is the Forever Young fashion spread shot by the painfully youthful and painfully talented Nirrimi Hakanson and Matt Caplin. No pressure, but I think in future these two will (grown up to) become Oz’s unique version of Garance Dore and Scott Schuman.
At a little launch soiree for the online mag last night in Toorak, an emotional Gosse said the idea for X and Y came about when she moved to Melbourne and found it hard to secure a job. So she simply decided to do her own thing. I feel you lady! So go forth and read X and Y but make sure you come back sometime.
