Fox Maiden Opens

Fox

Maiden, a new St Kilda boutique and budding label, launched last night amid tropical conditions and a bustling weeknight on Acland street. Zak Lewski is both owner and designer of Fox Maiden which is named after an old Japanese fairy tale.

Alongside their eponymous collection the boutique offers a range of other Australian and international labels for men and women. Catching my eye in particular was the Just a Cheap Shirt (J.A.C.H.S) label from New York. Quirky messages and details are found inside their pieces, especially handy for the fashion-with-a-purpose thinking guys are the labels “Good Shirt”, “Clean Shirt” and “Date Shirt”.

Other labels found on the shelves are of an urbanwear bent; think Nylon Flocks by Nicola Finetti, Friend of Mine, Bec & Bridge, Shakuhachi, Gypsy 05, Something Else, Melissa, Cheap Monday and Scotch & Soda (love that name). There are plenty more ranges, that are just that little bit special for daily wear, to discover in the kind of place from which you could easily re-stock your entire wardrobe.

Visit Fox Maiden at Shop 2, 112 Acland Street in St Kilda.
