Once Upon a Time part deux

Upon a Time…we were treated to a second fashion parade at Jason Grech‘s style office last week. This time the label’s main line was showcased; a range of, mostly mini, dresses destined for wear to your the big party, dressed up with a  hat to take us trackside for spring racing or perhaps to compliment the designer’s new bridal line as youthful bridesmaid attire.

Racy red was a highlight colour for those who want to stand out when they enter a room however it was the one-shouldered, floaty dress in a vivid purple and pink swirl that caught my eye. I’d could easily swan around in that creation pool side with oversized sunglasses and pretend I’m a movie star. Another personal highlight from the range was a turqouise, lace frock with a cut out back that updated an 80’s style – host Jemma Gawned sported a version of this in chocolate on the night and looked smashing (she has the body for it). I also spotted an element of this season’s safari trend in an animal print, one-sleeved, kaftan style dress that I would certainly sport as racewear with sleek, all-black accessories and a large-brimmed black hat.

There are a few trademarks of a Jason Grech piece that I noticed run throught the collection. There’s always an element of fun in the designs, lines are unfussy with an added extra touch (a ruffle here, a zip feature there, a sprinkling of feathers maybe) and the fit and quality construction of the designs are flattering through the bodice and at the waist. How will I contain myself until next season’s show?
