Style Melbourne

Obus with Liv Barrett

Hidden

away in the funky Flinders Lane in Melbourne, is the quirky boutique – Obus.  I’ve always been a fan of Obus’ individual and slightly off the cuff designs, and this season is no exception.

On Tuesday evening the Obus team through with a bash to celebrate Melbourne Spring Fashion Week, complete with bubbles and Turkish Delight-a-plenty, which pleased yours truly immensely.

The current collection boasted bold colour blocking, rich sequin embellishments and plenty of cut out details.  The primary silhouettes in Obus’ latest range were fairly simple, with dresses cut to skim and flatter all body shapes, and loose fitting, relaxed tees complete with cute prints made for a chilled out vibe.

Blacks and nude tones were used throughout, mixed with royal blues and deep red wine colours, along with the odd splash of mustard and white.  Overall, the colour palette used in this collection is extremely wearable and very Melbourne.

Also featured on the night was a contemporary art installation by local artist Liv Barrett, which featured plenty of eye catching photographic moments inspired by the Obus collection.
