Remember the fabulous Pink Ladies from Grease? I imagine that if they had to put on a gala event for charity it would turn out something like Make Breast Cancer History‘s Gala Evening for 2009 with a distinctly pink theme. The Gala Evening is on Saturday October 10th from 7pm at the Royal Brighton Yacht Club (253 The Esplanade, Brighton) – swish.
The event, hosted by Naomi Robson, features Australian wine, canapés and pink cocktail concoctions. Performances by 100% Kylie and silent and live auctions (for 5-star Thai holidays, a personal trainer for a year, a years’ worth of Peter Alexander pyjamas, a private cocktail party for 30, a $15,000 pink sapphire and diamond necklace plus more) will entertain.
The event is fund-raising for both the National Breast Cancer Foundation (research, prevention, detection, treatment) and the Breast Cancer Network Australia (information, care, support). Tickets are only $100 – entry and a few drinks at a decent bar on a regular weekend end up more than that these days – and include gift bag and opportunity to win mystery Pink Balloon prizes. So fish your favourite cocktail dress out from the back of your wardrobe and book online by clicking here.
