Lisa Barron City Store Opening

234, now the home of prestigious designer Lisa Barron which had its official opening Wednesday night. The two level boutique was adorned with Lisa’s new Spring Collection with all staff wearing a Lisa Barron favourite. Greeted at the door by champagne and a two piece band (including a tranquil violin) I made my way around the store sifting through dozens of gorgeous Spring garments. The room quickly filled with Lisa Barron supporters and she soon invited Nicky Buckley to the stage to cut the ribbon to officially open the store. Nicky, a long time friend of Lisa’s has been one of her biggest devotees; wearing her designs for years. In celebration of Lisa’s success, the parade began!

Lisa Barron’s collection was naturally always going to be feminine and elegant with bold colours and exclusive fabrics. Most outfits were adorned with a stunning head piece in preparation for Melbourne’s Spring Racing Carnival. Mod featured frequently in the collection with a statement black dress and a black and white three buttoned blazer. A versatile outfit to take you from the office into a corporate marquee! Also making a highlight appearance was a cocktail dress with a vertical pattern of circles and bubbles in black and white. This season’s flower embellishments decorated the neckline of the dress. High necked garments helped show off the female silhouette with an emphasis instead on waistlines. Keeping things interesting with the inclusion of patterned fabrics, a divine red and white dress was paired with a perfectly aligned matching caplet.

For those hunting for a bold outfit, Lisa Barron provided an array of options. You’ll find a bright emerald cocktail dress with a luxurious chiffon overlay, tied naturally at the waist with a bow. Or with black and pastel pink flower prints or green, red and yellow options, Lisa has catered for multiple tastes. The fabric in a stunning maxi merged tribal print with brightly coloured spring flower designs. Speaking to Lisa, her favourite piece is her metallic collection and current poster dress of a ¾ dress intricately detailed with sequins in grey, white and black. Tactile to touch and amazingly shaped when worn, this was the garment of the evening. Vintage brooches, floating fabrics and lady-like accessories gave the collection a vintage elegance.

From maxi to cocktail, from fitted to voluminous, Lisa’s latest collection is sophisticated and stylish enough for the track. She’s created shapes to flatter every figure. Divine!
