PS Over the next week we will have more birthday presents to giveaway in the form of three competitions – one for budding designers, one for race goers and one for pure fashion lovers – so make sure you are subscribed to our newsletter StyleSnap (just pop your email address in the box to the right) to be eligible to win.

A massive piece of birthday cake for all the people who have contributed in some way to StyleMelbourne over the past year; Ben, Bron, Brooke, Patrik, Anthony, Stephen, Michael, Michael, Kit, Hannah, Christine, Vicky, Brent, Mikaela, Christos, Chris, Ker Fern, Aaron, Max, Nirali, Mary, Georgia, Georgie, Amanda, Ashleigh, Aja, Jo, Alex, Monika, Tara, Angela, Natasha, Steph, Giorgette, Pia, Varia, Magdalena, Rebecca and Kat. And thankyou to Airdrie, Susie, Allan, Tania and Daniel (and more recently, the Twitterati) for their kind words over the year, particularly the beginning. We wouldn’t have reached over 1 million hits this month without you all!

It turned out amazing! Great job Sarah and Ken. I was wondering how the shoot went… 🙂

  2. By the way the first image with that gorgeous reflection isn’t retouching trickery – we actually used a glossy surface to get the effect.

  3. Thanks Eryanie – wish we could have used all the girls we saw. x

  4. That first pic looks great, have to admit tho, that I thought it was photo shopped to get the reflection

  5. Happy 1st Birthday!

  10. Hello Miss Style Melbourne.
We met briefly at the Thread Den Killer Queen after party where you photographed me for stylemelbourne. (I was dressed in black with a studded belt and green 1940’s style felt hat). Some of my millinery was showcased in the Killer Queen parade [petticoat conspiracy].
I thought I would get in contact with you following your delicious shoot above – in the hope that you may keep me in mind for any upcoming shoots or submissions – particularly in the lead up to the Spring Carnival.
Some pictures of my millinery are on show at ptcy.carbonmade.com. Looking forward to working with you in the future.
    Rebecca

  11. Hi Rebecca, I wasn’t actually at the Killer Queen show but my team were – glad they spotted you!

I like the big bows, pillbox hats and the crown in your headwear collection especially. Spring racing is the time for it. We won’t be doing another shoot for a while though but will keep it in mind for next year.

    Thanks for visiting,

    Sarah
