Crochetta

Crochetta I’ve been happily watching developments lately as Tahlia Coker revamps accessories label Crochetta. Their latest range of jewellery in particular caught my eye. An entire zoo of animals feature as motifs; from buffalo to birds, seahorses and even an impala on my favourite necklace.

Earthy stones and cord – in place of the usual chains – complement the pieces. The designs would look at home as much on safari as they would during a fiesta celebration or at the beach. The line meshes Elke Kramer’s carnivalesque colours with offbeat shapes the likes of which Ugly Betty might proudly sport. I just might be tempted to pop into their Porter St, Prahran boutique next week for a closer look.
