Style Melbourne

Two Blocks Festival

Two Blocks is a two week long celebration of Melbourne underground and otherwise little known fashion, art and music and kicked off to a start earlier this week with a showcase of two open house boutiques and installation art.

5cm is an internationally renowned label that has just opened a new store in Melbourne Central. With trendy and practical designs for men, the stands out features of their new displays were definitely the shoes. Classic dress shoes were revamped with laces and embroidered features in two toned pastel colours. The designs overall are classic dress inspired, but casual enough for everyday street wear.

The other boutique to open its doors was jean specialist THAT STORE. With every cut, colour and feature you could ever imagine in stock, THAT STORE is literally a haven for all those who love their denim. Stocking brands including but not limited to Nudie, Edwin, Cheap Monday, Earnst sewn, Superfine, Bassike and ACNE. A pair of red polka dotted Cheap Monday straight leg skinnies were a focus point among all patrons and seemed to be the one thing that everyone could agree on.

Two Blocks is on until Saturday 25th July at Melbourne Central with DJs, art installations and a live fashion shoot (created by a brillint trio; stylist Phillip Boon, MUA Narelle Hall and photographer Christian Blanchard) to check out.
