If
you are aged 30 or under at the end of this month and also happen to be incredibly talented in the creative arena perhaps you should seriously consider entering the Qantas Spirit of Youth Awards (SOYA). Now in its sixth year, SOYA has seven categories for you to win; photography, visual art, visual communication, film and animation, music, industrial and object design and, that all important one to us, fashion. With previous winners including rising star Friedrich Gray (pictured), Lang Leav’s gorgeous Akina label and Antipodium we really want a fashion savvy Melbournian to win this time! When it comes to the fashion category you don’t even have to be a clothing designer. Stylists, jewellers and accessories designers are all eligible to enter. As a winner in each category you’ll win $10,000 worth of flights and cash plus a mentorship – with the amazing Zimmermann (doesn’t “the amazing Zimmermann” sound like a circus trapeze artist?) if you win the fashion category.
