News…Short & Sweet Style Wrap #11

For a bit of a change Bloom Cosmetics has added two limited edition grey nail colours to their polish collection. I have to admit (at risk of my fashionist-license being revoked) that I’m not mad about Agyness Deyn but I am a fan of her namesake shade here, simply called ‘Agyness’. It’s an unusual wet cement colour that looks matte, modern and would make a unique day look. The other shade, dubbed Alexa has a slick of shimmer to it. They will be available from the 1st of June until they sell out. I would think you’d have to make sure they suit your skin tone.

Another Bloom release comes in the form of their new Full and Flirty Waterproof Fake Lash Mascara. I must admit I haven’t tried this one yet but it’s the kind of mascara that applies to make ‘tubes’ of pigment that hug your lashes rather than paints on and I prefer that style so this one may be worth testing out if you do too.

Beauty product junkies must be in nirvana at the moment as Gorgeous Cosmetics also puts out their secret to pretty winter skin with their ‘Fever Flush’ range on Monday including blush and highlighter. The focus is on creating rosy cheeks and shimmery skin like you’ve been out on the brisk winter’s day stroll – atmospheric fog not included.

And finally on the new release front we cannot forget the tresses. Kevin Murphy has put out his new moisturising Born Again Washes and Born Again Masques that are designed to treat damaged hair. Test them out and tell us what you think.

The Veronicas have been spotted sporting shades by local label Diluca Eyewear while doing a circuit of the US recently.

The final ‘Style After Dark’ market for May will be on next Thursday fro 5.30pm to 9.30pm at the South Melbourne Markets (running along Cecil and Coventry streets). These special nights feature vintage fashion and roving entertainment.

Those Michi Girl designer tote bags we told you about previously are now on sale. They are $130 of art meets fashion deliciousness. Each is unique and for charity (hello tax deduction) – what’s not to love?

Pallas Bridal wear is opening it’s first Victorian boutique on Murphy Street in South Yarra. The label dressed both Kylie Gillies and Fifi Box for the Logies.

Sometimes our outfit confidence requires a little extra oomph. For me that comes in the form of a fabulous slick of red lipstick or jewelled heels but then there are sometimes those extra ‘winter layers’ to take care of and since I’m an workout-phobe that’s not an option. Holeproof has just released some new shapewear for winter so maybe that’s an option? They have tried to incorporate the holy trinity of successful shapewear – by making the pieces comfortable, making them form-sculpting and making them attractive – into a low leg and a full brief style.

We are excited to tell you about Blondes to Brunettes hair salon’s open day this coming Sunday. The 479 High Street Prahan salon has opened it’s door to 20 lucky ladies who will be receiving free style cuts. We have just received news that all the places have been RSVP’d for but we can show you the results and fill you in on the goss at the invitational high tea with the designer of ‘Made in Donald’ (love!) early next week so you won’t miss a thing!
