Milliner and Jeweller Zuzana Vranovska has just opened her new boutique this week (which also doubles as her studio) at Shop 8 Kings Arcade in Armadale. Drop in early to get ready for the Spring races later on in the year.

The Australian Wool Fashion Awards were held this week. Among the Melbourne designers honoured were Maja Mueller (in the knitwear and woven categories), Linda Haven (sportswear/underwear) and Liana Amici (bridal).

BlackByrd (AFL footballer Nathan Brown’s label) has shown off its’ first collection for women. The line will be available for this Spring Summer season and will complement their existing menswear range. The new line features short urban dresses and the BlackByrd will also be on display at Livestyle.

The Rosemount Australian Fashion Week schedule has finally been released after weeks of teasing announcments. Dizingof, Leopold, Arnsdorf, Alpha 60, Anon, Dhini, April Marie swimwear, TV, Willow, Nicoangela, Eduardo Culcaga and Nana Judy are among the Melbourne born or bred contingent on show.

Very Very has recently opened its third boutique. Situated at 109 Church Street in Brighton the store rounds out a trio of independent stores with others already located in Hawthorn and the CBD.

We would like to extend our congratulations to Eva Huynh who won the student design award at the recent 28th NRA Australian Fashion Design Awards. Will we be bringing you more news on Eva’s design future shortly so stay tuned.

Stories abound that Versace is set to reopen its doors in Melbourne in the not too distant future after recent Australian closures. Fingers crossed.
