The Livestyle festival kicked off its biggest day of parades waterside at the Docklands with labels BlackByrd, Nique, Roy and South Yarra boutique Down Yonder on display.
BlackByrd, footballer Nathan Brown’s label, now in it’s second year was first up on the catwalk. I thought it would have been a great opportunity to show off the new additions to the range from their forthcoming womens collection seeing as it was first preview only the previous day. However only the original mens range was shown. Some nicely cut print tees and button down plaid short for guys were spotted and jeans were slim fitting but definitely not skinny.
Nique was up next with a soft, slouchy but not sloppy look that I’m really into at the moment. Soft cotton mini-dresses were paired with longline sleeveless jackets and knit scarves. Silky harem pants were seen with graphic oversized tops. It’s comfotable yet chic.
Roy popped up next with a nice twist on the traditional tailcoat for men. The designer stuck to the typical urban fashionista look with lots of black.
Down Yonder showcased their instore range to finish, including State of Georgia’s easily recognisable “What?” belt. The head to toe Parisian outfit they sent down the runway committed to the look with red-bobbled beret, black and white frill-collared maxi and some hiking boot stylised platforms.
