I just Love that Little Black Dress

i just love that little black dressCan you believe the precursor to the ubiquitous “Little Black Dress” was unveiled by Coco Chanel way back in the 1920’s? Such is the longevity of this practical, flattering style that it is rather inarguable that it will be anything other than a classic wardrobe icon for many, many years to come.  In tribute to the book “I Just Love that Little Black Dress” by Robyn Johnson the Sofitel Melbourne on Collins (25 Collins Street) is having a special event. Featuring a cocktail soiree and a parade of LBDs by designers such as Akira Isogawa, Linda Britten and Shirley Keon Couture, even vintage Chanel (insert squeals of glee here)!

It’s happening on Wednesday 6th May at 6pm. Tickets are $55 ($40 for student concession) and includes canapes and sparkling. To book phone (03) 9653 7744 or email H1902-RE13@acor.com. Or, if you can’t make it, remember to check back here late next week for full coverage as the next best thing.

Naturally, you should break out your most fabulous LBD to wear along to the event and you could win prizes. Remember the wise words of a former Duchess of Windsor, “When a little black dress is right, there is nothing else to wear in its place”.
