There was no hint of a global recession at the Nobody Denim store in Brunswick Street Fitzroy this weekend, with the team pulling out all stops to ensure that their fashion week opening party was an affair to remember. The recently renovated store has been fitted out with sleek white tiled benches, vintage brickwork and dramatic black drapes, making for an ultra chic shopping (or partying) experience.
Guests were served an array of refreshments including Peroni Beer and a personal favourite of mine, Innocent Bystander wines, however being the professional that I am I did not indulge… I was fortunate enough to have a chat with Nobody Creative Manager, Presana, who took me through Nobody’s denim collections, detailing the careful hand distressing and finishing process that goes into each and every pair of jeans across the road at Nobody’s very own denim laundry.
Nobody merchandised the store especially for the party, with posters detailing the various styles, cuts and colours, and shelves set up behind the bar with denim piled in perfectly stacked precision. The vintage rose carpet contrasted beautifully against the battered brick walls and heavy draped curtains, ensuring that a warm atmosphere was maintained for party guests on this unseasonably chilly March evening.
I was suitably impressed with both the friendliness of the staff and their willingness to divulge their passion which is Nobody Denim. So should you be looking for your next pair or ultra comfy or extra stylish denims, be sure to pop into the Nobody Denim Boutique on Brunswick Street, you’re sure to find a perfect pair that you’ll be bound to live in this winter.
