The mobile phone company “for chicks”, GRL, held a little soiree as part of the L’Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival. Sandwiched in between the official Runways 4 and 5 at Sketch in the Docklands the party attracted the special guests of the fest for the evening and entertained with a dancing and singing performance choreographed by Jason Coleman. Actor Vince Colosimo, LMFF director Karen Webster, GRL head Michelle Hamdorf, Jay Alexander, April Rose Pengilly all made an appearance along with noted designers Gwendolynne Burkin (wearing her new season lace top), Richard Nylon and Toni Maticevski. Maticevski dressed Michelle in a draped Grecian frock. One shouldered? Check. Deep purple? Check. Paired with not-yet-available-in-Australia black pumps with feathers shooting off the heels (We’re assured there will be just a couple of months wait until they were on shelves here) I was sold. Miss Jay wore a casual Ed Hardy shirt with jeans on the night – would love to see him in some Australian menswear (so get on that Arthur Galan, Leopold, Chocolate City et al)!
